NEPAL MISSION

Commander, Ambassador: Dr. CRAIG ROBERICK H. GIGANTE MCBAINE

The Order supports this Mission with its affiliate, Jeet Kune Do Health & Humanitarian Organization. On 11 August 2008 The Grand Master of the SMOKH has agreed to help Develop a Healthcare Centre-Hospital in Nepal and to assist with Developing the Rural Hospital Unit in the Municipality of Dannbantayan in memory of Skip Ellsworth (personal friend of the late Bruce Lee, a friend and caring man who was one of Sijo Bruce Lee's first students in America, along with Jesse Glover, Ed Hart, Taky Kimura, etc. Skip was the Volunteer Administrator of "THE ALFONSO FUND", which saves the lives of poor Filipino children by paying for their emergency medical care and medicine. ALL of the money that is sent to the fund is spent providing actual medical treatment for children; many of whom might otherwise die.).

Presently, the "1st Jeet Kune Do Memorial Healthcare Centre®"in Kathmandu, Nepal is holding ongoing Health Camps at various locations. This Healthcare Centre is in its developmental stages under the supervision of Mr. Shiva Bahadur Thapa, the Organisation's Founding Member and Representative in Nepal, and the first of its kind anywhere in the world, dedicated to the memory and honour of Bruce and Brandon Lee, who both believed in a person's total health and fitness through the development and nourishment of the body, spirit and mind. It is currently facing financial and medical care crisis's, due to: a lack of funds to build, buy more medicines, medical accessories, employ trained medical personnel to provide care, sanitation supplies and materials, and a suitable dedicated building.
The Healthcare Centre's healing practices will include treatments using both natural and allopathic medicine; daily body strengthening exercises based on Modified Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do movements for the elderly; and fitness programmes for children. Weekly pre-natal/pregnancy check-ups and HIV awareness are also being planned. So please, be generous and pledge to give whatever you can. Or, adopt a specific need of this Clinic and Hospital: telephone, electric or transport fuel costs, or building rent and fund.

Also, the Organisation is presently involved in helping to locate interested sponsors, and is helping to support a muay Thai Camp (Camp Boonchuay in Bangkok for Children) , in order to advocate health, fitness, moral development, leadership, responsibility, community awareness and education.
